The Social Presencing Theatre Dojo practice started as a prototype of community building in collaboration between Rita Venturini, Anne Sophie Dubanton and Paulo Carvalho.
Initially held at Blue Studio, Lisbon it migrated to Quinta Ten Chi in September 2018 and has accompanied the growth of the community in this project from the beginning.
It consist of 4 phases:
20 minutes sitting meditation:
sitting silently and witnessing the actions of the mind, thoughts, images, feelings, without changing or judging anything, simply tuning in with ourselves in stillness.
20 minutes dance:
SPT basic practice of observing the body in action and stillness. With a contemplative attitude we invite the mind to observe and allow impulses from the body to emerge and unfold. Starting from lying on the floor, we learn to listen to our body with respect and compassion.
The village:
Now we expand our awareness to the larger social body and we start by simple actions (lying down, sitting, standing, changing direction, walking) that can convey with clarity the impact that each and every movement each person take has on the global village. A way to tune in with the emergent future through collective awareness.
The sharing:
Here we share what we noticed, individually and collectively.
